Nous avons passé un superbe déjeuner. Le lieu est magique, plusieurs terrasses avec toute une vue incroyable.
Les plats à la carte sont simples et excellents.
Le lieu tout autant que la cuisine méritent le déplacement. J’ai passé un moment inoubliable avec mon fils. Quand on vient en Crète, on passe par Matala et on dîne à la Scala, passage incontournable.
Aanrader wanneer je Matala bezoekt. Mooi uitzicht over de baai, zeer vriendelijke eigenaar en hoog service niveau. Prijs kwaliteit is goed. Eten vers en lekker, uitgebreide menukaart.
Wij komen zeker terug!

It was our second meal in Scala restaurant as we went there last year.
As we were in Matala last week, we were very pleased to come back and have lunch in Scala restaurant as all is pefect : quality of food, warmly service, view on Matala bay... As for us it is one of the best restaurant in Crete...near of One star in Michelin French Guide (we are French...).
So we will be pleased to come back again uf we return to Matala.

Scala is a great address in Matala, the sea food was excellent, desserts are really yummy (try the Scala Illusion!), the vibe is very nice and the view on the village, caves and sea.
Bill is more expensive than the average restaurant in Crete but definitely worth it.

We had dinner there twice and ordered a wide variety of dishes. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious.
The service was outstanding. Gave great advice with dietary advice and very helpful on selection including choice of wine. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating.

Scala is an upscale place with wonderful, Greek inspired food with a twist. It is unique in Matala, that's for sure. The location is great providing a wonderful view of the town and the famous caves.
Second time at Scala Restaurant. Our good memories were confirmed. Excellent service and very good food. Recommended!

I ate mushroom burger with fried salmon halloumi and pickle cream it was incredible
the dessert with the cannabis oil and the spicy crisp I still dream of it at night
And the little shot of vodka and lemon at the end was very sweet and good too
Everybody was so nice (like everywhere in Crete) and the place is located in a very beautiful place : in front of the matala beach with these tiny houses inside the rocks
