The popular seafood restaurant of the Vavilas family! With the main supplier of course Captain Thomas. This traditional Greek fish restaurant in Arillas, Corfu opened its doors in 1992 and since then the Vavilas family has been one of the most famous fishing families of Corfu since the beginning of the 20th century.
This fact has resulted in Vavilas Fish Taverna restaurant being able to cater and make both tourists and locals alike enjoy fresh fish, seafood dishes and various other Greek and Mediterranean cuisine. Fresh and perfectly prepared you can eat the best fish here
Traditional taverna, no menu, you choose the fish and then it’s excellently prepared. Bread and nibbles arrive and a desert Is also added. Great place for fish. Not found anywhere else as good. Definitely worth a visit.

We were invited into the kitchen to choose our fish, which were freshly caught that day by the man himself.
We chose Dorado which was big enough to share.
There’s no need for menu, appetisers were brought to the table and the fish was served with the most delicious potatoes and vegetables.
An absolutely essential experience if you’re in Arillas.
It was so good, we decided our last day we are going back for more, hopefully Red Snapper!

The food is delicious and fresh. There’s no menu which is understandable cause there’s only fresh fish caught in the morning and vegetables from the garden… you are invited to the kitchen and you pick the fish you like.
The staff is amazingly friendly. Good local wine. And delicious dessert. Great experience. Highly recommend it!

We had a very tasty grilled fish that we could choose and look at beforehand. Perfectly prepared. Very friendly service, as a starter we had fried sardines with bread and olives. Also very tasty. We will be back soon. Price/performance ratio TOP 👍🏼
The evening started with a visit to the kitchen to chose your fish, freshly caught that day.
Whilst your fish is cooking little nibbles of olives and whitebait served with your drinks. We had a local fish which came out filleted with tasty potatoes, green veg cooked in tomatoes and a free salad. The fish was delicious.
And to finish a few little sweet treats.
Definitely recommend if you love fish.
The freshest fish, perfectly cooked, no fancy sauces , foams, split oils or any of the other concoctions balanced precariously on weird shaped plates served in a lot of places these days. It’s honest, rustic and true to its roots which is why I guess it’s full every night and you have to book early to get a table . Oh and there’s not a menu as such, you’ll be invited in to the kitchen, choose your fish and then it’ll come to your table. It’s the way it should be done, simple

I had a massive red snapper and it was the best piece of fish I have ever eaten. It is cooked is a delicious oil/butter and the fish is all you pay for. Bread, olives, potatoes, greens and some small cakes for desert are all included.
They take you into the kitchen to choose your fish which is a nice touch.
A lovely family run taverna where you can find delicious fresh fish to choose directly from the kitchen and that will be served with plenty of vegetables! Greek olives as a starter and a small desert are always offered with a friendly simile
This is our third year in Arillas and it wouldn’t have been complete until we’ve been to Vavilas restaurant. As delightful as ever and this year he’s got the next generation learning the ropes. If you love fish, you’ll love this place.
The food was nice. I was there twice and ordered fish (sea bream and red snapper). Whey goes with some green salad, boiled potato and greens As for me all food was a bit salty.

The whole dining experience from start to finish was unique. We loved the choice we were given of choosing our own fish and the simplicity of being told what we were having it served with. In addition chefs snacks were vert tasty

We had read very good reviews and the restaurant didn't disappoint. Fresh bread, olives, sardines brought to the table as a starter. We chose our own fish from the kitchen - red snapper and sword fish - wonderfully fresh, cooked to perfection and huge portions, served simply with salad and potatoes, and a plate of fresh doughnuts covered in chocolate to share for dessert. Delicious local wine and beer. A superb meal at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended.
