Very great experience in an amazing place and the food was very good.
Das Essen war, wie so oft ,hervorragend.
Nur, dass die bestätigte Onlinereservierung nicht wahrgenommen wurde, geht gar nicht.
1,5 Stunden Anfahrt und dann nur mit Glück einen Platz zu bekommen ist nicht in Ordnung.

Wonderful fish dishes. The risotto also perfect. Just the small difference better then other restaurants, for example with a small part of fennel. Very nice view and people are very friendly.

Hiona Seafood Restaurant was once a fairly well kept secret which was a delight for all of us who knew. Deservedly they are no longer secret which means booking is a must!
The Shrimps in Ouzo are outstanding, perfectly cooked fresh fish with meze to compliment.
The service is friendly and excellent but just bear in mind they are busy and this is Greece so your dishes will arrive as they are ready allowing you to enjoy a relaxed meal in an incredible location.

Depuis plusieurs années nous venons manger dans ce restaurant...Tout y est ..la vue , le service,et la nourriture..Nous n avons jamais été déçus...A notre avis un des meilleurs restaurants dans cette partie de la Crète Nous le recommandons à cent pour cent..

Το εστιατόριο είναι αξιόλογο από όλες τις απόψεις!!! Συγχαρητήρια για την όμορφη προσπάθεια που ικανοποιεί ,εκτός από τον ουρανίσκο, όλες τις προσδοκίες του επισκέπτη. Ευχαριστούμε και συνεχίστε έτσι!
The staff were very welcoming and helpful and as I had booked a table for two they reserved one in the best possible place right at the waters edge. The food is some of the best here in Crete and the service was perfectly timed for a relaxing lunch.
This was my second time at Hiona Taverna and I will definitely be back.

Loved this local restaurant literally on the sea. The place is beautiful, calm and romantic, view is amazing. Food super tasty and lovely service. I never do this, but I've been there twice in two days! 100% recommended

We loved it so much the first time, we went a second time within the space of a week. We've been meaning to go for so long, and it didn't disappoint! We're local, and so I know this is our new favourite restaurant/taverna.
The squid in black ink risotto is absolutely stunning, and the tuna I had was the best I've ever tasted. It's well known for its amazing seafood, so if you're a fan then I would suggest you order that, but there are other options if you're not into fish.
What a stunning location! Staff were so friendly both times, the wine, the ambience.... all of it was just perfect.
If you're in the area, I recommend it. If you're not in the area, I'd recommend it ;)

Evrithing went smoothly with the reservation, we didn't wait, we arrived 15 minutes earlier, and our table was already prepared.
We had a table on the terrance, near the wather, with an amazing view .
Food it was really fresh and tasty, you should definetly try it.
We ordered, local wine, wather, calamari, tzatziki, saganachi shrims, crab fresh salat, all were amazing.
We received from the house, racki, watermellon and a really good cake.
Youu should definetly go there, but don't forget to book it in advance to avoid any any inconvenience.
Maybe the best tavern in East Crete.

We can highly recommend Hiona Taverna for everyone who is looking for an outstanding fish menu in the most beautiful surrounding. We came with our little daughter and the whole staff was so kind and courteous to us, providing a baby chair and even a little fork for her.
The food is excellent, fresh and fairly priced. It made us return to Hiona Taverna multiple times during our stay. Thank you for the great experience, we will for sure come back!

Just magnific see and food
I found Hiona Taverna recommendation in the guide book on Greece. We went there for my husband's birthday. The food was delicious ( we ordered grilled sea food platter and groupper linguine) and staff was very friendly. I highly recommend this place, wspecially for fish and sea food lovers.
